Yea, that's true, but I don't think Mullroney and Diaz had a lot of chemistry either, so you're screwed if you do and screwed if you don't . It was a good movie all the same though.

well when you get paid 2o million a flick plus a back end deal.

that chances of you surrounded by a really good lead costar is slim to none.

its hard to put julia in a movie with another big star. I am sure she and pitt have major deals for the mexican, because julia's last couple of movies have all grossed over 100 mil.

ending my best friends wedding with them together would have been a major no no.

especially when you dont really hate the other girl and the whole premise was based on a promise.

the only way for the movie to end the original way if, julia's character would have saved him from an utter bitch.

Ben,

Thanks for the reply. I was happy to see you actually did see our tape. We were quite fond of our performances and just hearing you acknowledge it made our day. Thanks for your time and effort on the contest BTW. We appreciate the opportunity.

As for my first post, that was actually a tongue in cheek idea we had for the opening of our tape had we known you were actually gonna watch them (we came up with it after the fact). We figured it would be a good way to get people's attention.

Thanks again.

I do admit my heart did skip a beat cause it's hard to tell tone on paper/computer. Then I remembered from other posts that you had a sense of humor and your second post confirmed it.

As for criticism, it definitely ain't easy sometimes. After we turned in our first great comedy entitled "SuperRacial SuperHeroes" to our one big contact at the time, he called us with notes. When we asked if he thought it was funny he said "was it a comedy?"

I swear it's funny though.

To quetee and futuremrsaffleck,

My posts weren't intended to be spiteful in anyway towards his movies.

If anything I was just curious to get a response about our tape. Rejection with silence is sometimes harder than getting a harsh response with reasons.

He knows he's talented (please check his trophy case for the Oscar to confirm) and doesn't need me to confirm or denounce it.

I know it wasn't intentional, I have to admit that the first time I looked at your post I was sorta taken aback, but I know now that it was all in jest. He sure is talented, and modest too .

If I thought he really meant it, it might singe a bit.

I'm quite confident though, he got a giggle or two out of it and if not then I get a giggle out of the thought of him and greenlight staring at each other in bewilderment thinking, "what is this sh%$".

I stand by something I said not only on this board, but another one as well. I love the movie Forces of Nature. Matter of fact, it was on earlier on Cinemax and I watched it. I was alone - the kids were at school. So I really enjoyed it....again...for the umpteenth time. It's my kind of movie. I especially love the way Ben (his character) stutters when he talks. Maybe he does that in real life...it's not really stuttering...just just just thinking of what he's going to say before actually saying it outloud.

So then the movie came on again a little while ago and I acted like I hadn't already seen it (to the kids) and so we started watching it. Within 5 minutes I was sound asleep and woke up to the ending credits and my son handing me a plate of General Chings Chicken...oh my God, if I go to sleep every night at dinner time will someone else take care of it??? hmmm....there's a thought!

I haven't seen 200 cigs and I'm thinking that maybe I shouldn't??? Hell, I haven't seen Chasing Amy (that's the name, right?) either.

Chasting Amy is actually very good although some of its themes and language wouldn't be appropriate for your kids if they're young.

In my opinion it's one of his best acting performances.

Hey - Ben's been posting on here - I kind of just read the beginning and then replied. So hey, since he's here, I have a question...I was noticing how big your feet are while you were laid out in the lounge chair at K-mart (in F of N). The reason I notice stuff like that is because I have a 13 year old son who is supp to be 6'4" when he is full grown (isn't that your height? I read that on here somewhere). Anyway - right now, he has a size 14 foot and...and....well...I'm a little concerned about just HOW BIG is his foot going to get!!! It's already a situation when I go to buy him shoes - not everyone carries that size in the store! UGH!

Just curious. From the camera's pov, your foot reminded me of his, that's all.

Also, I just got some really great shots of Ridge (my son) on his skateboard and skooter - doing the grind bar thing - and I was laughing (to myself) about his damned feet and how big they look in the pics!

I wasn't asking him to tell me how big my son's foot is going to get - only God himself knows that. I was just asking how big HIS foot was. Just one of those curious kind of questions. At least I didn't ask him how big...well...nevermind...heehee!

FMA - A girl has to have her limits!

Besides, he'll probably never read this thread again and I've asked my question for nothing.

It's just like me to finally ask him a question and the best thing I can come up with is, "How big are your feet?"

ailey - really? Dang - that's big!

Where do you buy his shoes?

It seems that tennis shoes wouldn't be too hard to find - but he loves doing the skateboarding thing and I have to order the tennis shoes for that on line because the shoe stores only carry basketball shoes that big.

One thing is for sure - he has really good balance and we don't worry about him tipping over!

tina...

yes...they are huge. We have two little kids (14 months and 2 1/2) and both of them already have big feet for their respective ages. My husband is 6'5", and I'm 5'10", and wear a size 11 shoe...so I am just resigning myself to always having to pay out the ass for shoes...

My husband generally buys his shoes either mail order or at somewhere like NikeTown. I think Portland, OR may have one of the only Nike Town's anywhere - so in that respect you may be out of luck.

Nike carries big shoes - as does Vans. Since we both skateboard, or used to as in my case (pregnancy and skateboarding is a big no-no, in case you didn't know ), we bought those brands a lot. New Balance has big sizes as well..

My husband did say that he wore a size 17 by the time he was 14 or 15, so hopefully your son's feet will stop growing in the near future, and will stay that size...

Well I just read this whole thread and I have to say I thought Ben and Sandra had tremendous chemistry! So much so that I personally think they should breed. Can you imagine a more beautiful child?

Julia had much more chemistry with Rupert in My Best Friend's Wedding than she did with Dermot. I like Dermot, he was great in How To Make An American Quilt with Winona Ryder.

Big shoes, I wear a size 11 1/2 myself (woman) and I have to go to Nordstrom for shoes usually, or wear my husband's. It really is true that your feet grow when you have a baby.

your feet could grow - they'd probably swell a good deal, but that would probably go down some. I feel like my feet are bigger, but that might be because I'm always looking down at...the messy floor, the kids, the toys strewn everywhere. Feet look bigger when you hafta look at them all the time.

11 1/2? that's gotta be fun to find. My perfect shoe would be a 10 3/4.

Nordstrom's Rack is a great place to buy shoes...I live there.

My feet grew when I had kids too. I thought it was my imagination at first - but they did grow a 1/2 a size...maybe even a whole size - went from an 8 to a 8.5 or 9 - depending on the shoe.

I hadn't really said anything about the chemistry between Ben and Sandra - but I thought it was there. Of course I think that Sandra is a doll and maybe it's just the roles she plays, but she seems like she'd be a lot of fun to pal around with.

Yes, she and Ben looked good together too. I also liked the girl who played Brigett...when I was watching the movie today I had to laugh at her facial expressions especially when that goofy boy, Steve, started singing, "How can I just let you walk away? Let you leave without a trace. When I stand here taking every breath with you....ooo...ooo..." That always cracks me up and I wonder how he kept a straight face singing that. I would have been in the floor laughing.

I was disappointed that Ben and Sarah didn't end up together, but it made sense. If he had left Brigett at the alter then I would have felt bad for Brigett, so either way.

Also, I could relate so much with the character of Sarah (Sandra) because I am the type that does crazy stuff like she did (not the marriages and the kid thing) - but the catching a ride with the old folks and the strip club thing and the playing in K-mart. I'm always in the middle of some mess like that...but that's what I live for.

<<<<<<<<<Breed???

No your shoe size does not grow but some women feet swell from water retention especially if they eat to much salt, or happen to be over weight before they get pregnent.
Hope that helps a little

Yes, Robert Redford and Michelle Pfeiffer have many chemistry...

Yes, Sandra and Ben on screen maybe donīt have many chemistry... I think if he would have prefered the character of Sandra I wouldnīt have liked the movie. Sandra is older than him. I think many people thought that Ben would have a romance in all the movie with Sandra and I thought that is the reason many people werenīt interested in the movie. Maybe was the publicity...

God is he right about 200 cigarettes. I rented it because I enjoy him and Casey. By the end of the movie my toes were all bright and shiny with a new coat of polish on them because I decided that giving myself a pedicure during the movie was the only way I could say that the time spent watching that movie wasn't a complete waste of time.

I actually really liked 200 CIGARETTES and I'm usually ultra-critical of movies. The directing sucked but I thought the dialogue was hysterical--particularly christina ricci and that other girl. I would love to read the script, if anyone knows where I could find it. I love any movie about the 80's and particularly enjoy movies with a series of characters interacting and bumping into one another throughout the movie.

I'd give 200 Cigs. 1.5 thumbs up.

As far as feet go, my first "boyfriend" in junior high wore a size 16 shoe (he was 6'6 in 8th grade) so that made the junior high dance even more amusing as I attempted to dance with the giant.

Talented cast (look at all the people in the movie!) and, if you can imagine, the original script read as funny. That was the classic examle of director bungling.

And admit it, did your heart skip a beat when you read my first post? Imagine that in the NY times and you see why some actors turn into assholes. Enough bitter criticism will turn anyone but the thickest skinned fellow quite sour after a while...

As the token girl currently present, I must disagree with the cheesy bit. I enjoyed Armegeddon. Some scenes I thought to be hokey, however, it tugged at me emotionally (which may or may not be too difficult a feat being that they do tend to reside on the surface).

Regardless, the flick on a whole drew me in and I found myself pulling for the success of the mission. At the film's end, my face was tear-streaked and I was satisfied at being successfully entertained.
