Julie--I tried a few threads, grape and some others. Doesn't matter, since now I know you're OK, it's all good, ya know?

I'm just glad that I have all of this great news: Sachet made it out of surgery, BG is good, Julie is good, Tucker is good, Maeve's kitties are good...I'm starting to believe in PGL magic.

But, I really gotta try and down this cup of real soup...cyber soup ain't cuttin' it, anymore. Then, will probably sleep in front of the fireplace, if the dogs can spare the room.

I just heard 'Turning Green' one of the 10 finalists here was selected as the 4th place out of ten winners from over 2,000 entries at Final Draft so I guess the sp must have a bit going for it to place twice.
Congratulations to the guy.

Julie!!! Haven't chatted with you in a long, long time. Let me add my good wishes to you; so happy to hear you're fine. I'll have to send you some new horse pictures as soon as I can remember to take the camera out to the barn with me again, get to Wolf Camera, get the photo CD... soon, my dear. Soon.

BG--What a terrific short film, and what a talented friend you have. When's he leaving for L.A.? I've got some friends out there--one of whom works for Fox Television (he's a native Los Angeleno); my nephew, who's a U. of Miami Film School grad, who worked at Fox Searchlight as a reader, burned out, and now works for a psychological testing service; and a friend of a friend who packed up his old Chevy, and drove out to L.A. from Atlanta with nothing but good credit, acting credits from several productions in Wilmington (both film and TV), and a desire to make it as a writer. The last one, Eddie, has ruined his credit, is being supported by his sister back in Atlanta, has turned down a few gigs, but is waiting on that call from Paramount, who promised him a reader position as soon as their hiring freeze lifted. He's happy as can be, although a tad bit cynical; his little bubble has been burst--he's not as trusting of people's word as he used to be. But he's sticking it out for another 4-1/2 years. He's got a five-year plan, you see.

Better go grab a bite to eat. Getting a little light-headed here. Happy to know K. got her soup... finally.

And maybe a shower would be a good idea... whatcha think?

Hey... anybody hear Eliza Carthy? Hubby's got very eclectic musical taste (and over 10,000 vinyl records, 3000 cassettes--and a burgeoning CD collection numbering over 5500). Anyway, he listens to music while he programs... can't do it in silence. This morning, he was playing Eliza Carthy's "Angels and Cigarettes." And I had to ask, "who's that?"

I'll just leave you with the lyrics to one of the songs on the CD, titled "The Company of Men"--it's written by Eliza Carthy, Ben Ivitsky and Martin Carthy:

(yeah, I know...but I define the margins of a morning as when I down my first hit of caffeine for the day...not when I'm out playing with horses, etc.)

Molly--- How could you ever doubt you were a wild woman? And there's absolutely no reason you can't BECOME a camel jockey, ya know?

Maeve-- four pounds of carrots? Serious horse training...good luck? Want two more horsies to train? (I'll just put some stamps on their forheads and mail 'em on out...)

Where ya been, FMA? I'm sure you loved SNL last night, huh? (you wonder- or is it only me - if people are gonna give him grief over the "huffing" (sniffing inhalants) jokes? Hope not...it was just a skit. Still, people get all snotty of the smallest things, nowadays.

Oh, and some of you may remember the friend I mentioned who'd had her leg broken in a kick by her rescued horse... well, folks, he's doing wonderfully well at the trainer's farm. He's just completed his first 30 days of 90, and he's doing so, so much better with trust issues. And Cathy got her cast off!!! And she's driving again!!! She can't ride for another six weeks or so, while the leg strengthens, but she can get out to the farm and see her other three horses anytime she wants.

Man, I even have a bit of a sunburn on my nose... it hit 68 degrees today. But alas, it's supposed to rain most of the week ahead.

Lune--so you have relatives into NASCAR? Oh, my. The Charlotte area is the epicenter for NASCAR. The Dale Earnhardt death is still getting daily coverage in the Charlotte Observer. I, personally, just don't get the appeal of the sport. But, of course, it's downright dangerous to say that publicly around these parts; it's damn near blasphemy.

FMA - good to see you.

Khouri - I haven't been to see Sachet yet. She didn't think she would be up to visitors until tomorrow.

So I'm going to pop over there tomorrow on my lunch hour.

Maeve - David is planning to move to California in September. He's got a buddy out there already, so he's going to be roommates with him.

David's a computer fixer up chappie so he should be fine getting a job, no matter what happens with the acting/writing. I'll miss him though.

When I started my new job last April, he started one two blocks from me. My friend Kevin also started a new job two blocks in the other direction. So that was wonderful, because I had to lunch buddies before I even got to know anyone at the office.

Now Kevin is looking for a job in Europe and David is moving to California.

RG - how's your day going?

Cammie is saying he can't do his project that was actually due last Friday.

I haven't really started looking for a job yet. Who knows what's going to happen at my office.

I'm sort of hoping I'll get laid off in the middle of June, so I can spend a couple of weeks home with the kids.

My friend David I actually see about once a week or so. We try to hook up for lunch. Once I even went with him to his allergy shot, now that's true friendship!

Woo Hoo mamma, hold me back!!

Yesterday, the reiningdude and I looked at computers and left in disgust. We went to several stores and everythign was sold in bundles, which is just absolute extorsian (OK, I don't know the exact definition of extortian - or even how to spell it - but the word seems appropriate.) I don't care that these computers come with a color printer, monitor, MS ME or a free upgrade to Office XP - I already have all that stuff. But none of the sales people would or could knock those of the price. Unfortunately, the reiningdude got a little bored with the whole thing and now I'm afraid I've lost that window of gernerosity.

After we went shopping we met some friends downtown for dinner. Because our shopping trip was bust, we got to the restaurant 2 hours early and headed straight to the bar. I woke up with the worst hangover today!

Then we woke up early and drove three hours to see our colt. He looks hairy and ugly like all yearling do.

No word from Sachet yet, I should know something tomorrow. She's supposed to call me in the morning.

I won't be able to post to you guys until I get home from work though, since I'll be using my lunch hour to go and visit.

I seem to get busted every time I post from work, so I'm trying not to do it anymore.
