Long time no see! I'm sorry I haven't been around. I couldn't even find our old thread - so I had to start a new one.

Ok - so what's going on with everyone?

I am having a little get together at my house tomorrow night (Sat). Nothing special - just having a couple of beers and hanging out. Wanted to invite you all to come over.

Molly, I've already told you about it - and I expect you to be here if you aren't drunk.

I need to do something fun. I have been working like crazy. I started my new job about 4-5 weeks ago. I tried to quit my old job, but they have been so busy and keep asking me to help out - so I've been putting in about 20 hours a week there as well. I'm burning out quickly.

Had to leave work yesterday and go to Ridge's school. Long story -but basically, he decided he didn't want to do homework anymore (was lieing to us saying he was doing it in his room). He had straight A's in all his classes, but will receive straight D's from having done NO homework for the entire six-weeks. UGH! It's a real shame because his teachers showed me all his tests and he aced every one and had A's for all classwork - then had zeros for homework.

His excuse? "I didn't feel like it!" He didn't say this in a disrespectful way - he was actually trying to be very honest. He said, "I don't know - I get tired of the same thing over and over - we go over it in class, I listen - THEN they want me to come home and do it all over again. Do they think I didn't get it the first 12 times?"

How this started was that I called home yesterday to check my messages and there was one from one of his teachers. She was literally screaming into the phone. As it turns out - she was so angry with him for AGAIN not doing his homework that she started screaming at him in class. Then when he showed no reaction to her, she flipped out on him. She grabbed her cell phone out of her bag and called my house right then and there in front of everyone.

Of course Ridge couldn't give a crap. You can't humilate him.

When I got the message I said, "What the fug???" I called the school and spoke to Ridge and he said, "Ahhh, she just lost her mind...that's all!"

As usual, I have a strange effect on people. I went to the school - practically growled at the teacher that she is NOT to act that way with my child no matter what he did. Then before I left we were all laughing and she said, "You are such a wonderful parent...come'ere and gimme a hug!"

I know...strange! Oh well. I hugged her - what the hell!

Poor Ridge - he is without any privaleges except to eat, breathe and do school work. I feel sorry for him - but I have to do it. My boy MUST straighten up.

Other than that - life is good.

tina...i know we talked about rounding up some folks for friday...i can't make it i forgot one of my friends is playing up at school and i'd already promised i'd be there! how about saturday? i'm free then or even thursday night i could pry meet up for drinks. i like to pretend sometimes i'm not in school.

Let's see - Thursday night - Main Street Beer Company? Would that work for everyone? I went there a couple of weeks ago and honestly, all I can tell you is that it's on Main Street down town - near Carytown maybe. Shoot - I'll ask a guy a work and let you know.

Or we could meet at The Tobacco Company or Richbrau (sp?) Brewery....or we could get really wild and funky and rock a Ruby Tuesday's off it's feet - heehee!

Let me know if ya'll have any ideas - oh - what about that place we went last time - what was the name of it? Wasn't it an Italian place?

gb suggested banditos...which sounds good to me...but the other places sound great too..NOT RUBY TUESDAYS though.

Just started a new job, so life's been a little on the busy side. I opened my big mouth and offered to write a weekly column for one of the newsletters we do. Some Dave Barry type thing, except with my limited sense of humor. What the hell is wrong with me? Now I have to come up with an opinion once a week. Keep in mind that my opinions tend to lean to the liberal, West Coast side. Should be interesting going out to our conservative, Richmond audience. Shall I start off with a piece on the Confederate Flag?

I heard from Leaf about the Thursday night drinks. I told him to tell me when and where. I have a 6:30 yoga class, but I'll come in after if you'll still be around.

How's life with everyone else?

Tina - I had to do the two-jobs-at-a-time thing for the first two weeks and it sucked! Hope you're done soon.

Molly - How's school? Have you had your spring break yet? UVA had theirs last week so I got to have lunch with Jeremy all week. He works two blocks away, but usually has a class during lunch.

GB - Still living the free-life, eh? Hope you're getting a lot of writing done. How goes life otherwise?

Leaf - I sent you my story. It's not my favorite piece, but I'll let you form your own opinion. btw, I'm counting down the days until the second week in April. Can't wait!! (love those smilely guys)

I had such a nice time last night. I'm sorry I couldn't stay longer, but I'm a whimp about getting enough sleep.

My friend from work, David, thought you guys were great. As much as I've told him about you all, he felt like he already knew you. Of course I didn't tell him everything...then again...maybe I did!

Greg, question. Who's your friend...Steve, was it? What a hottie! Is he straight? (How do I know you're going to tell him I asked?) I'm just curious, that's all.

You looked really good. I think that being off work suits you well. Heehee...ok, so you seemed like you were in a bit of a funk. That's ok. We're all still pullin' for ya and can't wait til you land the PR job of your dreams.

Pluto - I was so sorry we missed you. Yes, the two jobs thing stinks. So unjust that I've been working 2 jobs (& you too) while Greg sleeps in everyday (kill kill!) How the pup?

Leaf - I can't believe you turned me down for a kiss - you dog face! I didn't want to you kiss your big-lipped self anyway! David was laughing at me when we walked out and of course asked what was up with that. I told him the story about smoochin' ya before...now I guess he thinks I'm such a bad kisser that you wouldn't dare go there again. That and I'm not sure which nickname to go with now - "Smoothie" or "Miss. Fancy Pants". Whatever would life be like without you!?!

Now onto Chesty Love...

Molly - well well chicky-poo! Didn't you look just too hot to trot in your new glasses. I swear! Such a lawyer lookin' person you're turning out to be! It was so good to see you....and your variety of lip gloss.

I guess that's all for now. Let's all get together and do it again soon. Next time I'd like to stay out later - so lets go for a Friday night.

Greg - good talking to you yesterday. Sorry I had to leave suddenly. Tyler had a situation! UGH! That child! He walked in and announced it was his "Lucky Day" because he found 5 bucks in his pocket. (That translates into "I stole 5 dollars - now figure out from who and where!")

It wasn't long before we figured out that it was from his friend's father who is a preacher in the county. I thought I'd have to kick his little ass. It's like he does it for the challenge of it or something. I don't know.

Either way - I can assure you, it was NOT his lucky day!
