The Survivor winner filed their taxes and their accountant let it leak to the lawyer of a local radio station. I don't know if it's 100% reliable, but in case it is I will hide the person's name in the paragraph below. DON'T READ THE PARAGRAPH BELOW IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW WHO THE WINNER IS. IT KIND OF TOOK SOME OF MY INTEREST AWAY WHEN I FOUND OUT. you should not be rEading this paragraph unLess your desIre iS to know who wins becAuse it could ruin all suBsequEnT sHows for you... I've heard this from other sources. I've Also heard who Makes second place, BEating the other Rejects. It's important to remember Mark Burnett promised he'd let out several false leads, just to confuse any genuine leads that pop up. However, I think you're right. Let's call it Kelly's revenge. So, I'll just come out and say it. Colby's gonna win immunity this week. that means either Rodger or Keith is gonna go. After much worry, I'm now pretty sure it's gonna be Keith. Or Rodger. Or Colby, if he doesn't win immunity. I'm pretty sure of that. IP: Logged |

i dont believe this theory only because this would mean that elizabeth keeps winning immunity . i just dont see this happening. why in the world would colby/keith/tina allow this to happen. and if this does happen that would mean that this week. elisabeth wins immunity. IP: Logged |

quote: Re-read my post... I only say I'd heard Amber comes in second. I also say this could be part of Mark Burnett's disinformation campaign. I only said I believed Elis. is the winner. But I'm not so sure now. I gotta strong feeling about Colby somehow beating the odds and winning the whole thing. That's just a strong feeling, though. Not a prediction. Again, Colby needs to win immunity each and every time to stay in the game. The moment he doesn't, he's gone. IP: Logged |

Couchguy, I said that I heard that Elisabeth filed her taxes and it appears that she won the million. I will stand by that because it was something that I heard earlier this week. When cmclippe added that he heard Amber was 2nd, I said "IF" that is true, then Colby goes this week. Seems like you have mis-read some details this time....... PAL. IP: Logged |

Well, buddy, considering that they aren't going to know who won the million dollars until the votes are counted LIVE a few weeks from now on the Survivor finale, I think someone has been shoveling some shit about Elisabeth's filing her taxes. Unless the IRS requires you to file income you haven't yet received... Your pal, IP: Logged |

quote: Actually, the show is taped, genius.... The competitors already know what they've won. Elisabeth's accountant (supposedly) told a lawyer friend who works for a radio station (WAAF) in Boston, where she lives. (Newton is 20 minutes west of Boston) And they mentioned it on the radio. Maybe they're lying... I've heard that Survivor can refuse to pay them if they leak it out so part of me questions the validity of what they said. Did you know that it's tax time, Couch? IP: Logged |

Easy, fellas. Let's play nice. Everyone knows the show is taped. But if the producers do not PAY the million until the episode is aired, then Couchguy is correct. Unlike corporations, we do not pay taxes on amounts we earned in 2000 unless we are actually paid the money. (I think that's true, anyway. I've never been PROMISED a million dollars, so I'm not sure.) Cash-basis vs. accrual-basis accounting. So assuming Mark Burnett was not stupid enough to pay Elizabeth already, the story must be false. It was an interesting diversion, though. My second sentence in this thread, "I don't know if it's 100% reliable". I was just passing along what I had heard. What do I think? Besides, if I won money, I would look to pay the taxes on it as soon as possible to avoid it sneaking up on me later (like capital gains). And it's very easy to get an extension. She could have filed and send a small check now, and she'll pay the rest when she gets her money in another month or two. No, I don't think Mark Burnett is stupid, but I wouldn't put the move past Elisabeth. She comes from a very wealthy, affluent town chuck full of lawyers and accountants. I would not doubt that she had been advised to file immediately to avoid the payout next year when she might be broke and not have it available. I mean advised before she even knew how much she won because they all win some money for being on the show, even the first one voted off. Wrighty, I realize you're not 100% reliable. We can count on you for at least 65%. And in this case, you're wrong. The Survivor Finale has NOT been taped yet. The votes HAVE been cast, but nobody knows what the results are. The "tribal council vote lockbox" will be opened on a special Survivor finale, and only then will anyone (other than maybe Rob Burnett and a couple key staffers) know who has won the million.
Or maybe you would, because you're such a smart guy. That's known as "trouncing your argument with facts, logic, and sarcasm." You want fries with that? Your pal, IP: Logged |

quote: So am I understanding (and I am serious here for a minute) that they got down to the final two people, sent everyone home, and will fly them and the jury back in 5 or 6 weeks to film the final show live with the big vote??? That doesn't make sense. I had not heard that anywhere. Then again, I only watch the show, I don't read all the background BS. Or are you saying, that they have simply kept the final two and the jury there for over 6 months? Either way, it sounds a little far fetched, no? I think you're makin' up shit now, Couch. Also, I am 100% reliable. In fact, I responsibly stated to all that I, myself, questioned the reliability of the info I had heard on the radio. Finally, for the record, this all started when you slammed my idea for no reason other than to highlight your own. So don't try to rally the support of the other readers by painting me as the aggressor here. You sent the first shot accross the bow, not me. So as of yet, you have provided no sound proof of trouncing anything. IP: Logged |

Don't call me son. It's an insult to my father. The jury has already voted. The votes were sealed. They'll all reunite for a special show when the votes are revealed. Did I make it simple enough for you? Is that still too far-fetched for you? Considering they had a special reunion show featuring all 16 of the first Survivors immediately following the first season finale, does that seem like a real wild proposition? That the network would DO EXACTLY THE SAME THING, ONLY THIS TIME HOLD THE VOTES BACK UNTIL THE NIGHT OF THE SHOW, TO ENHANCE THE EXCITEMENT? Still way out there, old timer? Fuck you. No, I didn't pee myself, because it isn't the first time I've used it. However, you're still the big loser here. 1. I didn't "fire the first shot across your bow" simply to highlight my own theory. If I did, show us the post. You can't do it. I merely pointed out that nobody knows who won yet, because the votes haven't been counted. 2. You are the aggressor. In your post #4, you sarcastically call me PAL, and "genius" in post #5...prior to anything from me other than pointing out that you erred when thinking the show had already been taped. Then, in post #7, you called me "know-it-all" and wittily claimed that I work at McDonald's. So here are some of the errors in fact which you have so brilliantly displayed in this thread. 1. You are unaware that the Survivor votes have not yet been tallied, nor that a special live show will air revealing those votes. 2. You state that it's a good idea to pay taxes on $1,000,000 in income that you haven't received yet...how will a 23 year old put her hands on $400,000 to send to the IRS if she hasn't received it yet? I'm sure you have the answer. It will be incorrect, but you'll have an answer. 3. You said I only had 2 days left to file my taxes. Fortunately, I am smart enough to realize that the Post Office is closed on Sunday and the tax filing deadline is April 16 this year. I'm not holier than thou. I'm smarter than thou. You stupid fuck. (Did you pee yourself with glee when you read that word again? Ooo, you've won the battle of wits! You got me to cuss at you right after I showed everyone who has read this thread what an ignorant idiot you are.) Hey, are you the boss in Dilbert? The guy who has absolutely NO clue how anything works, yet cruises through life thinking his shit don't stink? Hurry along now, you only have those two days left to pay taxes on the income you might earn next year. What a dumbass. Your pal, IP: Logged |

Yes, I have flaws. I've admitted them. What I don't often do is make so many errors of FACT when I post. My opinions might not agree with yours, but at least I get my facts straight. So, to recap. 1. You get your Survivor news from rumors on the radio, yet you weren't aware of the Survivor finale, which has been in the news recently. It doesn't take a lot of searching to find it. 2. You stubbornly insist that a person who MIGHT earn a million dollars in the NEXT tax year should go ahead and pay those taxes this year. This is idiocy at its finest. Yes, you should pay taxes on a million dollars WHEN YOU EARN IT. But, genius, she HASN'T EARNED IT. Hello, McFly! 3. I never said I was the smartest person on these boards. I just said I was smarter than you. Luckily, it isn't hard to prove this point. 4. Oh, you mean I don't have to pay my taxes by April 15 this year, since it's a Sunday? You weren't smart enough to realize that? Whatever, indeed. 5. Congrats on your good year. That shows that even clueless people who don't know jack about writing, analyzing writing, current events, or even when taxes are due, can thrive and succeed. What a country! Yeah, you make a lot of money and can snap me like a twig. Weak minds often fall back on the size of their wallet or the size of their biceps when they can't make a point any other way. Flex for me, Wallet Boy. Pose down. Oh, yeah, oil up for us. Mmmmm. Yes, looking good there. Hey, is that a wad of Franklins in your front-facing fanny pack, or are you just happy to see me? Everyone's pal but yours, apparently, IP: Logged |

ummm the only reason why i dont believe the elizabeth theory is because.... there is no way in hell she filed her taxes. the show is not over. you calm your winnings when the contest is offically over and when you receive the cash. no money has been exchanged so she didnt get a 1099. Not for last year. She will have to pay her taxes on the cash next year. for example, IP: Logged |

Fact: I don't give a shit about Survivor background, only the show itself for entertainment purposes. And I only mentioned what I had heard. Fact: The advice I provide for someone who will receive that much money and may very well spend it all prior to next tax season is sound. IF she won the money in 2000, and will have it within a few months, then she should ask for the extension and pay it on the front end (in 2000's taxes) so she pays it when she has the money. She may not have it next year and then she'd be screwed. I can't possibly explain that any simpler to you. If you don't understand, then you are the idiot. So, I'm done talking about that. And I did say this all along, my advice is good IF, IF, IF, she did actually win first prize when THE SHOW WAS FILMED LAST YEAR IF SHE KNOWS SHE ALREADY WON. You are truly a loser and a moron. I too have heard the story the result of the final vote won't be revealed until a live telecast after the final episode. But do any of you actually believe they are going on live TV to tell one of two people they've lost one million dollars after a six-month wait? Are they gonna take the chance the loser won't react in a way that would disgrace the show and CBS (for example, Elis. breaking into tears for three or four hours, or cowboy Colby breaking a chair over someone's head). The winner's known they were the winner since the votes were cast six months ago. IP: Logged |
