With all the creative people in here, and all the aesthetic capabilities members(and juniors) of PGL has, you would think we can come up with a dynamite screenplay.

So let's make a fucking dynamite screenplay.

As far as the plot goes- well, I really have not the slightest idea, yet. I was thinking maybe brain storm a few- then pick the best one. I'm sure we will have disagreements, we'll just have to do it the democratic way and vote for the best one. If you don't like it, my best advice is to well, fuck off. We all need to come into terms for this to work. We will work as a collective group of writers.

About who's writing what- I'm not sure how that's going to work. (Note: this is just an idea, and I'm proposing it to all of you because something exquisite might come out of it. If not, then we'll blow it off and at least we can say we tried. So please, don't slam me for not having details) Once we know the plot, genre, etc., we can take turns writing individual scenes.

If you think this is a waste of time, by all means say so, but please back your mouth up.

Once we have writers willing to participate, then we will establish the parameters in which to work in.

Which genre are you thinking about writing in? I have a few ideas that may work within a comedic story.

I can write in any genre, so I really don't care what genre we choose to work in. Comedy seems to be rated pretty high up, so comedic stories sounds good. Lay out your ideas.

Comedy sounds good. I'll throw out the first idea.

How about the second coming of Christ, but nobody believes him 'cause of all the crackpots out there claiming to be him?

I don't know if it's already been done, just thinkin' off the top of my head.

Ok, comedy: 2
other genres: 0

Does it have to be religion-ish?

I think we should really be creative with our plots. Something that hasn't been done before. You never know, we might be able to present it to Miramax or whomever if it's REALLY dynamite.

Just find a topic that turns you on and don't stop there. I have a script notebook. I write in script titles, I write synopies in it and I go back and forth doing research on all the screenplays.

Wow! What a great idea! I have some paper here, about 83 pages. We need at least 7 more, then someone needs to supply the ink, and someone else needs to come up with the brass fasteners. Then we need someone to assemble the pieces, and I bet we would have a great script!!

This is a great idea. So what genre would it be? Wether the topic at hand is blasphemous or not, I don't think I really could give a shit. Do you?

So far we have 4 participants, if the above posters excluding burger and jk are willing.

Do all of you agree with JC being a woman (maybe hermaphroditic??) As a springboard for a plot? Maybe we should work on it a little more.

Blasphemy my ass! This is an excellent idea, and one that can be expanded until stretch marks are what it's defined by.

Before I start throwing ideas around, and possibly double up on a throw down that someone has already suggested, I just want to clarify a few things-

The main character (I assume), is a hermaphrodite, who is also Jesus.

She doesn't yet know that she is Jesus, and relies on the help of a man that she meets over the internet to nudge her towards clarity.

She and this man are lovers(?), he obviously being okay with her "differences".

Now- What is her purpose? Why has she been set on earth, and in the present? Is she going to perform strange and unexplainable miracles? Will she ultimately be found out and condemned for who she is? Is she comfortable with the power that she has been afforded? Does she resent the fact that she is who she is? Is the story going to be written in such a way that the Christ that we know today, had never existed? Or is she some sort of re-incarnation? Long lost relative?

It's fucking rediculous how many ways we can go with this simple plot, and for the record-I'm willing to go to hell in a hand basket if it means being recognized as a contributor on this fine, fine project.

Ideas?

Hell yea! Ok. I didn't think it was blasphemous either.

So we're sticking with JC being a hermaphrodite (?)
Would JC having a lover be bending the unmentionable rules of religious de rigueurs too much?

As for her/his purpose- We could go 2 ways with this in the most simplified terms : Re-enactment of the primordial purpose with the first JC(which is to relieve the world off sins) -or- Just to prove that JC exists because too many stopped believing?

I think that she should be condemned at the end for who she is to make it more powerful because in all reality, she probably would be (depending on what country she steps foot in (?))

About your question- "Is the story going to be written in such a way that the Christ that we know today, had never existed?" I'm not quite sure how to go about this. What do you think?

cc,

I'm here, but due to the time constraints that I am faced with (my boss is nothing more than a demon from HELL), I will address each of your points individually.

Re: JC being a hermaphrodite- While it would add considerably to the absurdity of the story, I think the fact that we have deemed Christ a woman adds an already prevalent sense of oddity to the plot, so much so, that also making her a hermaphrodite may weaken the seriousness/sincerity of the film. I think we should allow her "mommy parts" to be defined as normal, but seeing how this IS only a brainstorming stage, I'm open to anything. Let me know what you think.

Now- Should our female JC take on a lover, and one which she meets over the internet, no less? I like this part of the story, perhaps more than anything else. It would allow for much comedic relief (if need be), as well as, countless emotional highs and lows (will their relationship survive?). BUT- again, these are only mediocre ideas that I've come up with off the top of my head. I want to know what you, and everyone else for that matter, thinks.

I shall return sooner, rather than later.

Thanks for your input, r_callicotte.

Note to self - don't let r_callicotte read the finished, yet to be titled script, currently being formulated. Having someone puke on me is not my idea of a good time.

We'll let you know when we've finished our next project - the sequel to "She's All That".

The internet thing is an excellent idea, it's the world we live in now.

I most definitely think she should take a lover. Because people see the church as being so strict, it's very hard to accept the relatively new idea of the God of love, rather than the older God of fear. This could be portrayed as God saying, you know what? I love you anyway. And in contrast to this, it's the church that should "crucify" her in the end, believing that they're doing it on God's behalf. Very ironic.

I do think that she should be reincarnated. She could start out as a normal, all American girl and when she meets this guy from the internet the memories start coming back to her. Maybe in dreams, or in little flashes at first and more fullblown when the story gets going.

Just throwing in some ideas.

There are two movies coming out soon.

"The Body" Two priests discover a body in a grave that the evidence suggests is Jesus.

Another one, where scientists put a suit on a man before he dies that traps his soul and keeps it from leaving. Then, even though the body has died, the spirit keeps it animated.
