Well, I'm speaking on behalf of those who live in other countries, rather than U.S, and qoul like to enter a contest like this one. I know there must be legal problems and, of course financial ones, but with internet, it could be all overcomed. Besides, and I speak as a portuguese "candidate to" screenwriter, there aren't that many incentives for us, idea developpers.
Why doesn't it happen? Would it become too big? Is that the reason?

We all start out as a firenger at one point or another before we move to America. Or our family.
If Greenlight were open to other counties it would be more of an international flavor. And that's GOOD!

you could make it open tp other countries as long as the script is in eninglish and will fit into budget. i'm from south africa.
