Is there a movie that you have seen that has so much replay value that you could practically recite it beginning to end? I got the idea for this one because my father used to work as a projectionist in a movie theater, and he memorized "The Godfather" because the theater played it so much. Even though these aren't my favorite films (except the first two), "Magnolia", "Singin' in the Rain", "Rocky Horror Picture Show", and "Jurassic Park".

"Withnail & I" (Richard G Grant & Paul McGann). I have seen it so many times I can recite the script but I never tire of it. Perfect film to watch with friends after a few drinks. Cracks me up!

If you haven't seen it RENT IT NOW!!!

I'm afraid that I haven't seen "Masters of the Universe" yet (I was a Ninja Turtles fan growing up, so...). I've heard that "Withnail & I" is a movie that is a definite must-see. I always forget about it when I go to the video store. Still, excellent choices. I'm hoping to get people to stop thinking about what they say their "favorite movies" are to other people, and start thinking about the films that they have seen so many times that they could finish any line that you start from it.

"The Princess Bride." I can recite every line the movie, and it's one of my favorite movies of all time. Nothing particularly Oscar-winning about it...it's just a hilarious movie to watch with friends.

"Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

"Ma-widge. Ma-widge is what bwings us togeva today. Wuv, twoo wuv. That bwessed awangemant. That dweam wifin a dweam... Have you the wing?"

Now who can beat THAT kind of entertainment???

Mine would be:

Real Genius: "You didn't touch anything did you? Good, because everything is carefully organized in alphabetical order. This for instance is under "H" for toy."

American Beauty: "Good. I'm looking for the job with the least possible amount of responsibility."

and Evita "You let your people down, Evita. You were supposed to be immortal! Was that too much to ask for?"

My top prize would certainly go to Ron Howard's WILLOW. "I am a great sorcerer"..."Now you die!"..."I have the child!"..."Place it on the altar!"..."I hate trolls", and so forth. I also have THE MATRIX, INDEPENDENCE DAY, SPEED, and most of PLEASANTVILLE down pat. I love movies like that. That you can say something before a character does means you've established a special bond with the film. Also, THE DARK CRYSTAL, with the Gelflings and the Skecksies.

I have to go with the one that anyone who was ever a child had to have seen at least ten times growing up. WIZARD OF OZ. Great lines in a classic for all times. "So you liquidated her?" And songs anybody has been caught at least once in their life singing.

I love it when the six fingered man says to Inigo, "Stop Saying that!!!" and then when Inigo says "I want my father back, you son of a bitch" WOW now THAT is gooooood acting. Mandy Patinkin is nothing short of amazing in everything he does.

"About Last Night." Isn't that horrible? I saw it about three hundred times when I was 18. It was my favorite movie. I saw it again a week ago and couldn't believe how bad it was. Not only did Sheena Easton wail through half the scenes (the Baywatch style action sequences) but the acting was horrible. Who's the "Magnolia" fan and why?

Okay, I own about a hundred movies and have most all of them mostly memorized, but here are a few of my faves...

"Drop - your - sword. <clank!>"
The Princess Bride

"Was it a dream where you see yourself standing in sort of sun god robes on a pyramid with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you?"
"No."
"Why am I the only person that has that dream?"
&
"In the immortal words of Socrates... 'I drank what?'"
Real Genius

"Yeah? And how did I lean when I leaned?"
"How did you lean? Leaning is a lot different than hugging. Hugging involves arms and hands-- Leaning is whole bodies moving in, like this. Leaning involves wanting, and accepting... Leaning--"
"Hey, Luce, is this guy botherin' you?"
"No, no I'm fine."
"Are you sure? 'Cause it looks like he's leaning."
While You Were Sleeping

"I am a shining, glimmering star in the cinema firmament. It says so. Right there."
Singin' in the Rain

"So it's sorta social. Dementend and sad, but social. Right?"
The Breakfast Club

"The money is gone, Joe."
"And where has it gone to?"
"Atlantic City."
"And what is it doing in Atlantic City?"
"Recirculating."
Empire Records

"The most incomprehensible thing to a man is a woman who rejects his offer of marriage."
Emma

"What I'd like to know is, which gentleman among you am I to have the pleasure of making love to?"
Mansfield Park

"Disappointment doesn't kill."
"No, rejection kills, disappointment only maims."
The Truth About Cats and Dogs

"It's amazing. You look like a real person, but you are actually the angel of death."
When Harry Met Sally

"The Shawshank Redemption" I watched my laser disc of it so many times that it is literally worn out. My favorite line, "I wish I could tell you that Andy fought the good fight and the sisters left him alone. I wish I could tell you that, but prison is no fairy tale world!" What a great movie.

Problem with Dull Durham, Tim Robbins is not a pretty boy, as his character is described in the script. He is too goofy looking to be a pretty boy.

Would have perferred to see Kurt Russell as Crash, as would have Ron Shelton.

Very true sk0ll....I would have to agree with you on the casting...i'm not actually a fan of Kevin C...but there are some unforgetable lines delivered by Susan Sarandon. As for Tim Robbins...love him...and he may be a "pretty boy" to some eh

Well, While I was growing up I could not help but to watch Labyrinth over and over again. I remembered everyword from begining to end. I like fantasy very much. My favorite quote from the movie is "Through danger untold and hardships unnumbered, I have fought my way to the castle beyond the goblin city to take back the child that you have stolen. For my will is as strong as yours and my kingdom as great.(pause)Damn, I can never remember that line.(pause)You have no power over me." It's a wonderful childrens movie. Starring Jennifer Connely and David Bowie. It's great. Growl.....
