Hello TS,

I've been trying to find the little 60 day (or was it 90 day) rule thing in the Official rules, but I can't find it.

I was wondering when I can have my script back? You know, without Miramax involvement. Is it 60 or 90 days after the Winner was annouced? OR- is it 60 or 90 days after I didn't make it to the 250? What's the date I can take my script? Can I just ask for it to be removed- because that's what I'd really like to happen. (Nothing against Miramax- I just can't find the binding rules- and I don't want to make any legal mistakes.

Can you advise?

thank you,
cd

Thank you- but more specifically-

(Because I'm not a lawyer- I'm a writer. I can read those rules in many ways.)

Anyway. It says that Miramax has right of last refusal for 90 days. (Otherwise you can be disqualified.) Okay- so, is this from the date that I was no longer 'in the running?' December 1. Ninety days would bring me to about March 1st...which means that I can sell it without contacting Miramax right now??

Or- is it when the winner was announced (March 1st)? Which would bring the 90 day window to around the end of May? (Which, in my opinion, would be crap considering impending developments.) Considering the contest pushed all the deadlines up...I feel a little like my script is being held hostage a bit.

I guess what my specific question is WHAT is the actual date that I don't have to tell Miramax what's going on in my prof. life?

It's 90 days from the end of the contest (March 1).

TS,

I was wondering how long is the average before they get back to you about removing your SP? I used the 'special' email to request that- giving them all my info. It has been a few days.

(I heard from someone else on the board who requested the same thing- that it only took them about 3 hours to take their SP off. When should I reasonably expect a reply/response? Should I re-email? I don't suspect I should- but could the email get lost in some kind of limbo?)

Thanks,
cd

carpe,

You appear to be all set (your script has been withdrawn). Please send us an e-mail if you have any more questions.

Thanks
