Are you depressed? I think that would scare me if nothing bothered me.

My boss said he has discovered the secret to happiness, to never want anything again. If you don't want you are happy.

That lasted about a day and then he had to work really hard and missed his lunch by two hours. Then he wanted his lunch and happiness was getting his lunch.

The timing was funny to me because I had just been to see Into the Woods which is all about wanting. I had a lot of the lyrics running through my head as he explained his new point of view.

Magicalcat - you are going to the party, yes?

It does scare me. But I'm not depressed. I know well what that feels like.

It's just that most of the stuff that used to make me crazy, I just shrug it off these days, and/or am faintly amused by it. It's like I o.d.'ed on chill pills or something.

I got pulled over and ticketed by a cop, and I didn't even fight it. I was polite to the cop, and reasonably cheerful.

Someone yelled at me at work for something that wasn't my fault, and instead of blaming the person who'd done it, I just calmly apologized and promised it wouldn't happen again.

People have directly insulted me or made fun of me for stuff I used to be sensitive about, and I can't bring myself to care.

It's kind of alarming.

Don't let it frighten you! It actually sounds like you had a spiritual breakthough or something. Enjoy your bliss, girlfriend!

(and pass me some of that while you're at it.. )

Magicalcat - yes I am, much to my surprise I am going. I'm bringing my oldest son to LA with me and then we are driving back to Maryland.

SS - I think that sounds pretty good, it may be just temporary, enjoy it while it lasts. Sometimes I amaze myself with how much patience I have and then sometimes I snap like a twig at the slightest stress.

I had a similar feeling after I saw Fight Club.

True, it may be temporary. Perhaps I shouldn't be really alarmed unless it continues indefinitely. I hardly recognize myself.

This is the girl who cried all night because coyotesix said she wasn't pretty.

After I saw Fight Club, I had to go run around the block. Ask markpenney.
