I partially agreed with Steamham's "roommate" in that I BELIEVE this screenplay (the keyword here is "believe" ) lacked originality...and yet I thoroughly enjoyed it...it is the only script that I have read twice (although I am half way through my second read of "Stolen Summer"--loved it so much the first time around).
On my drive out to San Diego last weekend, I read it out loud to my fiance and we both laughed more than a few times...he agreed it would probably make an enjoyable film. But who are we? Just a couple of just-turned-thirty people who love movies--and that's all any of us are.

What I want to know is: what ever happened to FREEDOM OF ****ING SPEECH????

While comments like "I had 6 intelligent people read this script and they all agreed" negate the credibility of the "reviewer", he does make some specific points that validate why he "believed" it was bad...that's his opinion--end of story. Haven't we all heard or read a professional critic slash a film publicly that we absolutely love?!!!

I submitted a romantic comedy and got 3 poor reviews...poor in rating but pretty good in terms of supporting why didn't like it. Did I turn around and slam them for slamming me? The fact is, some stories are never going to appeal to some people...so I just "sucked" it up.

...and for the record, the word "suck" has no place in a review either.

I've said my peace.

bobby,
of course he has a right to say anything he wants to about the script, but he did it in a malicious way.

this person was cut from the top 30 which means that his script was read by a miramax pro and they passed on it.

so he was venting, why did mine not make it and this make it.

believe me, if he would had done it before the top 10 were annouced, i doubt he would had been malicious.

he did not use tact.

again, this is the writer of 'turning green' reiterating that i was not the writer of the comment attributed to me. why i feel i have to defend this surprises me. i honestly shouldn't care. good luck to 'avenue a' anyway. i sure wish this was a dead issue.

It busted me up...sometimes that's all I want out of a movie. Yeah, it may have done before but hasn't everything? By the way...doesn't that girl look a bit like Miss Paltrow?
