Dear Pete,

Congrats! I see that you're already casting. I suggest that you hire a casting director. It's worth the money.
The other part. You can get a camera package from Panavision (they give free packages to beginners all the time). The same can be said of Eastman (Kodak): Motion Picture Imaging Department.
Check out the industry links. I like Deluxe and Avid. If I was shooting, I'd use both of them.
