Richard M. Berner named Vice President of Performance Solutions at TechEmpower
El Segundo, CA, September 24, 2002 - TechEmpower, Inc. announced the appointment of Richard M. Berner, who brings over ten years of consulting, product development and sales experience, to the position of Vice President of Performance Solutions. Mr. Berner is responsible for strategy and business development. Mr. Berner is positioned to lead the roll out of TechEmpower's new Time-to-Performance offering, which is targeted at improving the performance of sales teams and channels.
Mr. Berner brings a strong background in developing and rolling out solutions that have improved performance and increased revenue for various Fortune 500 companies, such as Sun, Marriott, Toyota/Lexus, United Airlines, SHL Systemhouse and Kepner-Tregoe. Prior to joining TechEmpower, Rich was a key executive in the complete life cycle of FreeDrive, Inc. from initial business plan development to funding, build-out and a financially successful sale of the company. Rich was responsible for developing the sales and product strategy, which produced year-over-year revenue growth in excess of 100%, acquisition of 15 million customers in two years and award winning products. Prior to joining FreeDrive, Rich was Director of Sales for Novion, where he was responsible for selling data warehousing and e-commerce projects, and at IEC where he was responsible for selling custom built performance improving applications.

Rich graduated from the University of Illinois as an Evans Scholar with a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics.
