TechEmpower selected as Sun e-Integrator
El Segundo, CA, March 30, 2001 - TechEmpower, a leading developer of Internet-enabled technology solutions, today announced its selection into the Sun Microsystem e-Integrator program. This announcement follows TechEmpower's recent release of its Gemini Java Infrastructure and continues TechEmpower's push on cutting-edge Java solutions.
TechEmpower is growing its reputation as the premiere Java developer in Los Angeles. They are coming off a string of successful, high-profile projects that utilize Java. These include a portal site for the Japanese market that includes sophisticated market research on the back-end. This portal was recently used by Warner Music Japan for a campaign touting new bands.
TechEmpower also recently completed work on a Java-based digital media infrastructure for a large music company. This system will house the companies 750,000 plus songs so that they are searchable and playable on the desktop for the entire company. "This is really the first step in being able to leverage their catalog more fully," says Dr. Tony Karrer, CEO/CTO of TechEmpower. "This project represents the fourth major project that we've built on top of our Java architecture. We are beginning to see it become battle-hardened and it is providing real leverage on projects."
Dr. Karrer is referring to TechEmpower's recently released Gemini Java Architecture. This system provides about 20% leverage on each of their projects and ties closely into content management, monitoring, application logging, database integration and other services that are commonly found in Internet applications.
"This architecture gives us real leverage and a distinct competitive advantage," says Karrer. "It makes us standout in the market and certainly shows our ability to build high end solutions. It also shows our Java strength."
Founded in 1997 and based in El Segundo, California near Los Angeles International Airport, TechEmpower designs and builds custom software, database, web, and training applications for a wide range of clients, including Digital Insight, eharmony.com, Universal Music, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Microsoft, and Xerox Corporation.
