Your "industry standard format" definition differs from
some others I've seen. Will my screenplay be disqualified if I used
another "industry standard," e.g., if the margins are
set according to WGA standards (3 inches) instead of your industry
standard margins (2.5 inches)?
The Official Rules require Submissions to be in "industry standard"
screenplay format. Nevertheless, "industry standard" format
itself allows for some minor deviation (e.g., there is some flexibility
with regard to margin width). While we do require Submissions to
be in industry standard screenplay format -- written as a screenplay,
within the appropriate range of margins, characters identified appropriately,
and so on -- Greenlight may deem it appropriate to disregard certain
MINOR format deviations that may have been caused by, for example,
the Adobe® PDF conversion process, or minor differences between
accepted industry standard formats.
