Burn Zombie Okay, so I waded through all of the aggravating RTF-PDF crap, and now I'm viewing the final version before I upload it. Thing is, the converted version that I'm looking at is missing page numbers and MOREs and CONTINUEDs and such. The whole format is screwy, but, from what I've been hearing, that's to be expected. So what gives? Do I upload it minus page numbers or is there something I can do about it? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Frank Stewart Chances are, if you created your original screenplay in a word processing software where page numbers are included in headers or footers, you might have problems when going the RTF/PDF route. Sometimes they don't show up, depending on the original software and the RTF conversion.
Burn Zombie The original software I used was Final Draft. I'm about to just say screw it and upload anyway.
Palin Well, I'm not much for the "Continued"s and the "more"s, but I lost my page numbers and my neato page spacing too, (And I tried the conversion from several different formats, including rtf and wpd) I sure hope the reviewers aren't going to dock points for funky pagination!
Thinkingoutloud At some point in time, I downloaded the free Adobe Acrobat Reader from the Adobe site. As part of the installation process it set up a "printer".
From Script Thing (or Word or whatever Windows Program)select FILE, then PRINT, then choose "Acrobat PDFWriter" as the name of your printer. This will give you some options about where to save your file.
Doing mine this way seems to preserve the formatting.
