beazybI would have to say that my biggest concern right now is that after having been sent several moronic scripts, I have to wonder about the people reading and reviewing mine...hmmm...

I'm expecting to get sent one that begins, "It was a dark and stormy night...".

wedge78I think moronic is a harsh word to use. Will some scripts be poorly written? Yes. Will some ideas be so over the top that no one would want to make them? Yes. I'm not putting down your script or raising mine up but until you've won and Oscar you shouldn't judge others.
beazybNo, trust me on this one. I hear what you're saying and I agree entirely, but this one was absolutely moronic. It was written more as a novel, and I found maybe one or two sentences in the first 5 pages that didn't contain numerous errors, including rudimentary spelling mistakes.
TrunksIt's bound to happen.

I've been in Net fiction for 5 years now, and if there's one thing I've learned, it's that there are people who are under the impression they can write...and simply cannot.

The important thing to remember, though, is that the schlock scripts have no chance in hell of winning, because we're all too smart to give them positive reviews.

I know how you feel. The three mandatory scripts I read were extremely sub-par.

But from MOST of the posts in these message boards, it seems that people (who are posting at least) are fairly open-minded and intelligent and know a good script when they read one. I've just got to hope that the right people will review mine.

falconActually, I was sort of relieved to have reviewed the 3 scripts I did. I was afraid it would be 10,000 great scripts... if so, then what chance did mine have of getting noticed?

Turns out that, like in most things, a whole lot of these scripts probably won't ever become movies... so, the folks who took the time to write a coherent script stand a chance of advancing to the final 250.

<<I think moronic is a harsh word to use>>

Before I read my 3 scripts, I would have thought so, too. The first one I read was good. The second one... well... hate to say it, but it was moronic. The third was written by somebody who could write, but he just couldn't write screenplay or plot.

So, you see all kinds. Trust me, I would have enjoyed it much more if they had all been good, but only the first one was something that could have become a movie.

ManJugsI would have to say that my biggest concern right now is that we are all morons.
