Cloudkick reaches 'Outer Limits'
The following is an email from Brian Nohr, user name cloudkick:
Anyway, about my snagging the story credit on "Outer Limits" recently.
Basically it's been a lot of hustle and networking like crazy that finally
paid off in this first little step towards bigger things. I met one of the
Executive Producers of the show at a friend's party, my friend and sometimes writing
partner staffed on the show, and said there was a slot open for story ideas. I sent a few beauties up and they loved one and locked it. That's it
in a storming teacup. You have to enjoy the hustling, networking side as
much as you do the writing. Bring the same creative energy to it, and
things will happen for you. I view it as a cool poker game and have a lot
of fun introducing myself to new industry people. It's not some weird cult
or anything, they're just people, so don't limit yourself to how you think
you can break in. Just start break-dancing it now. And be persistent and
daily dedicated to expanding your writing and contacts, and it will pay off.
That's my Tony Robbins impression for a nickel, anyway. Good luck,
everybody. Catch ya on the flip.
cloudkicking it,
brian
