"Project Greenlight" and Ben Affleck Issue "The Chris Moore Challenge"
Best Imitation of Project Greenlight Producer Chris Moore Gets Trip to See "Stolen Summer" as Reward
Public Votes on Finalists on www.projectgreenlight.com
Los Angeles, CA-Jan. 28, 2002-Project Greenlight announces "The Chris Moore Challenge," a contest to determine who can do the best imitation of producer Chris Moore, an increasingly popular personality in the HBO "Project Greenlight" series and on www.projectgreenlight.com. The winner of "The Chris Moore Challenge" will receive a trip to a special screening of "Stolen Summer," where the winner may just get to compare his or her imitation of Chris Moore to the real thing.
The contest was inspired by Ben Affleck, Chris Moore's partner and executive producer of both the "Project Greenlight" TV series and the Project Greenlight film "Stolen Summer." Moore has emerged as the hard-nosed voice of reason on the HBO series, and has been good-heartedly impersonated by Affleck several times on the show and on www.projectgreenlight.com. "We started Project Greenlight to give someone the opportunity to be a filmmaker who otherwise wouldn't have had a chance to crack the Hollywood system," said Affleck. "The bonus of the TV show, though, is the budding celebrity of our friend Chris Moore. Love him or hate him, he's certainly worthy of impersonation! While Project Greenlight required writing a screenplay, this contest requires nothing more than the ability to have a little fun."
Contestants who wish to enter "The Chris Moore Challenge" can register to participate at www.projectgreenlight.com before 3pm (EST) February 2, 2002. On February 2, 2002, five hundred randomly selected registrants will be notified that they are eligible to send in videotapes of their Chris Moore imitations, which will be viewed by Project Greenlight staff. On February 11, 2002, the video clips of the Top 25 Chris Moore imitations will be posted online at www.projectgreenlight.com for the public to view. A vote of the Internet audience held from February 11, 2002 to February 19, 2002 will determine the Top 3 Chris Moore imitations. A panel including Ben Affleck will judge the Top 3 Chris Moore imitations. The winner of the Chris Moore Challenge will be announced on February 22, 2002.
Go to www.projectgreenlight.com for the Official Rules. The Chris Moore Challenge is administered by LivePlanet. No purchase necessary to enter or win. Must be at least 18 years old and a US resident to participate.
