What attracted you to the Entertainment Industry, and what was your first job or big break in the business?
I was amazed to see how many people it takes to complete a film project, regardless if it is a student or feature film. Every person has a specific role, and no matter how small (keeping by-standards at bay) or large (being the cinematographer), everyone needs to do his or her job for the project to work.
What advice can you give those trying to break into the "industry?"
Perseverance and patience.
Please describe your job for those who might not know what a Prop Production Assistant is.
A Prop Production Assistant works under the Prop Master. A prop is anything an actor uses in a scene; some examples are a bicycle, purse, or coffee cup. There is a fine line between prop and set dressing or wardrobe.
Can you share any tricks of the trade that help you work faster/cheaper/better?
Thrift stores are key.
What advice would you give a director on how to make production easier?
To make sure you have a good crew working under you. They are the bloodlines of a project.
