What attracted you to the Entertainment Industry and what was your first job or big break in the business?
I liked acting and wanted to put my skills into action. My first job was a Burger King radio spot and my big break is "Stolen Summer."
What is the biggest challenge you faced trying to break into the industry and how did you overcome it?
My biggest challenge is missing school for auditions and being able to get all my work done. My teachers and principal are very helpful and give me any work that I need to make up.
What advice can you give those trying to break into the "industry?"
I would advise them to have fun and not feel pressured by the whole process.
Please describe your character in "Stolen Summer" and why you were attracted to the role.
Pete O'Malley is an 8 yr. old boy who is growing up in the '70s and is trying to figure out how to get to heaven. I was attracted to the role because Pete's a lot like me. Sometimes, he's a little bit of a troublemaker, but he always tries to do the right thing.
Can you share any tricks of the trade that help you work better as an actor?
What helps me work better, especially for movie roles, is to "step into" the body of the character. I try to pretend that I am living the life of the character that I am playing.
Are you also a writer and if so, how many screenplays have you written?
I am a writer. I haven't written any screenplays, but I do write comic books.
What's the best lesson you've learned in regards to working in Hollywood?
Always be nice.
What advice would you give a director on how to make your job as an actor easier on set?
If there's a difficult scene, it helps me when the director gives me an example that I can relate to.
