Will I get to read my reviews?
As a Contestant or member of
a Team, you WILL be given the opportunity to read the reviews that
your screenplay receives from other Contestants and/or Reviewers.
Whether you read them or not, is entirely UP TO YOU. The reviews
will be sent to your home page anonymously and you will only be
able to read them after you find out that your screenplay did not
advance to the next round. Hopefully, however, you'll win the contest
and have to wait until the very END to read your reviews!
As a Reviewer
or Contestant reviewing screenplays, will the submitting Contestant(s)
be able to read my review(s)?
Yes, see above. The reviews you submit will be sent anonymously
to the submitting Contestant's homepage as soon as they find out
they did not advance to the next round. Whether they read them or
not, is entirely up to them. As stated in the Official
Rules, please be honest, fair and "civil" with your
reviews, as they WILL be a factor in your continued participation
in the contest.
What if I don't like the
reviews that I receive?
As noted earlier, everyone always has a different opinion about
everything and you may not always agree with what someone has to
say about your screenplay. Thankfully, however, your mother will
always think it's the "best screenplay in the whole wide world!"
Seriously, try to remember, this is a subjective process. Try to
keep an open mind. Who knows, some constructive criticism that you
get on your screenplay just might be the thing that causes you to
change it and make it even better.
But, what if another Contestant
blatantly "trashes" my screenplay in their review?
As a Contestant, one of the determinants for advancing to later
rounds is how fairly you have reviewed your peers. If it is obvious
that a Contestant or Reviewer has done nothing but "slam",
"trash" or "submarine" every screenplay that
comes their way (especially with profanity or personal attacks),
the reviewing party (or entire team, if applicable) will be eliminated
from the contest. Gang, this is meant to be fun. So, please grow
up and read our message about "sportsmanship" here.
