DELUXE LABORATORIES BECOMES OFFICIAL FILM SPONSOR OF "PROJECT GREENLIGHT"

Film lab powerhouse continues to extend award-winning technical capabilities to the independent film industry and helps to make one aspiring filmmaker's dreams come true

Hollywood, CA, March 20, 2001 -- Deluxe Laboratories, a leading worldwide supplier of film processing services, today announced that it has become an industry sponsor of the Miramax backed independent filmmaking contest "Project Greenlight". The unique venture, producing original content for television, film and the Internet, has just awarded aspiring filmmaker Pete Jones, the opportunity to direct his feature film through the company's joint venture with Miramax Films and TV, Live Planet and HBO.

Not only will Jones have the support of an Oscar-winning production team through "Project Greenlight" executive producers and LivePlanet co-founders Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Chris Moore, he can also rely on Deluxe's renowned technical expertise, which has been recognized by three Academy Awards. Deluxe Hollywood will provide all film lab services for "Project Greenlight", including negative processing, dailies and color correction, and Deluxe Toronto will provide complete sound post production services including sound design, sound editorial, mixing and sound optical track.

"Deluxe has released some of Hollywood's biggest blockbusters including Chocolat, Shakespeare in Love, Titanic and Cast Away, but we've also consistently supported the independent filmmaking community through projects such as Swingers, Twin Falls Idaho and The Blair Witch Project," said Cyril Drabinsky, President of Deluxe North America. "Project Greenlight is providing its winner an amazing opportunity and we are thrilled to be able to lend our support and services to the effort."

Throughout the production of the Miramax feature film and it's related HBO television series, the viewing audience will get an insider's look at the movie-making process and have a chance to see what "color by deluxe" really means - an 85-year history in establishing and maintaining the highest standards for processing and printing film.

"Since launching Project Greenlight last summer, we have been fortunate to partner with some of the best companies the entertainment and technology industries have to offer," said Chris Moore "The addition of Deluxe to that roster ensures that our winning film, 'Stolen Summer,' will benefit from their extensive experience with both major and independent studios."

About Project Greenlight
Project Greenlight, a joint venture between Miramax Films and TV and LivePlanet, combines traditional media (film and television) new media (the internet) and the real world activities (screenwriting and film oriented events). The online community (www.projectgreenlight.com) is the world's largest screenwriting community, and holds a screenplay contest where the winning writer gets to make their film with a guaranteed $1 million budget and distribution in theaters by Miramax Films. Miramax Television produces a television series for HBO that documents the entire process, from the contest, through production, to the film's release. All of this is designed to create an entertainment experience for everyone who likes movies and the creative process-it shows the audience more than they have ever seen, allows them to be more involved than ever before, and provides highly entertaining content for them to enjoy.

About Miramax
Miramax TV is a division of Miramax Films, the film company founded by Bob and Harvey Weinstein in 1979. Miramax has released some of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful independent feature films of the past decade including "Chocolat," "The Cider House Rules," "Shakespeare in Love," "Life Is Beautiful (La Vita È Bella)," "Good Will Hunting," "Pulp Fiction," "The English Patient," and "The Crying Game."

About LivePlanet
LivePlanet creates entertainment experiences that break down the barriers between traditional media, new media, and the physical world. LivePlanet calls these new entertainment experiences "integrated media." Integrated media gives the audience a richer, more enjoyable entertainment experience that allows them to become deeply involved and to have access to content where, when and how they want. Integrated media also provides a closer connection between marketers and their audience. LivePlanet was founded by Ben Affleck, Sean Bailey, Matt Damon and Chris Moore in early 2000.
